Florence Farmer, 86, Humboldt, died Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011 at Pinecrest Nursing Home in Humboldt.
Florence was born in rural Buffalo on Feb. 17, 1925, the daughter of DeLacy and Bertha Mae Thornton Rose. She graduated from Buffalo High School in 1945.
On Feb. 19, 1949 she married J.E. Farmer in Bentonville, Ark. He preceded her in death on July 22, 1972.
She was a homemaker.
She enjoyed playing bingo, listening to music, shopping, and most important spending time with her family.
Florence is survived by three sons, Don Farmer, Humboldt, Johnson Farmer and wife, Denise, Humboldt, and Terry Farmer and wife, Teresa, Humboldt; four daughters, Janice Ensminger and husband, Mike Weinzerl, Kansas City, Mo., Phyllis Cameron and husband, Ron, Chanute, Sheila Burt and husband, Robert, Chanute, and Teresa Winner and husband, Shawn, Iola; one sister, Alta New, Chanute; and 19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one daughter, Anita Browning, one son, Johnny Farmer, one brother and one sister.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7 at Penwell-Gabel Humboldt Chapel. Burial will be at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the Vaughn Cemetery in Greenfield, Mo.
Memorials in her name may be made to Arrowood Lane Residential Care Facility and may be left with the funeral home.
