John P. Lucke, 63, Parsons, died Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, at Labette Health in Parsons.

He was born in Chanute to Howard and Edna McGowan Lucke. As a young boy he grew up in Erie and attended schools in both Erie and Parsons. Through the years, he worked as a carpenter and had assisted with farm work.

He had attended the Methodist church and was an associate member of the George L. Hendricks Post No. 102, American Legion, in Erie. He enjoyed dancing, listening to music, drag races and model cars.

Survivors include one daughter, Sky LeeAnn Lucke, Parsons, four brothers, Jack Lucke, Buffalo, Jerry Lucke, Mulberry, Joe Lucke, Chanute, Jim Lucke, Parsons; two sisters, Dee Haviland, Parsons, and Ike Edwards, Parsons; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Lucke, May 18, 1970; his mother, Edna Lucke, August 23, 2002; three sisters, Mary Samson, Feb. 12, 2007; and infants, Virginia and Patsy Lucke.

Funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28 at Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Chanute. The family will receive friends from 3-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
