Raymond Michael “Mikey” McAdams, 37, Fort Scott, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009, at Mercy Health Center at Fort Scott.

He was born Nov. 1, 1971, at Pittsburg, the son of George Earl and Mary Lorene Renn McAdams. He attended special education classes in Chanute, Fredonia,and Pittsburg.

Currently he was attending Tri-Valley Developmental Center Workshop in Fort Scott.

Mikey was a very loving person, who never knew a stranger. He touched the lives of those who knew him. He also enjoyed participating in the Special Olympics.

He is survived by his parents of Fort Scott; one sister, Missy McAdams, Pittsburg; two aunts, Pat Trumbule, Keyser, W.V., and Janice DeGruson, Pittsburg; five cousins; and his family at Tri-Valley Developmental Center.

Mikey is preceded in death by his grandparents, one aunt, Anna Marie Devers, and one cousin.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16, at the Brenner Mortuary, Pittsburg. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 6 p.m. until service time. The family suggests memorials to the Tri-Valley Developmental Center and/or the Southeast Kansas Special Olympics.
