Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 13 at Jacobsen-Greenway Funeral Home in St. Paul. Chaplain Steve Shanno will officiate. Interment will be held in the Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:30-6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Gloria was born to Charles and Leafy Droullard Foreman on May 11, 1923 at Rokeby, Neb.
She graduated from Kearney High School, Kearney, Neb., in the Class of 1941.
Gloria was united in marriage to William Kirkland on Nov. 11, 1945 in Bakersfield, Calif. Three daughters were born to them, Laura Jeanne, Barbara Louise, and Deborah Ruth.
Gloria Kirkland and Jim Spears were united in marriage in Grand Island, Neb., on Fathers Day, June 18, 1967. After Jim retired from farming, they purchased a travel trailer and spent many years traveling around the country with family and friends. They started spending winters in Arizona. After Jim passed away, Gloria continued spending winter months in Arizona.
Gloria was a member of the Gold Canyon United Methodist Church in Gold Canyon, Ariz. She was also a member of Rock Shadows Singles Club.
She enjoyed doing counted cross stitch, and crocheting afghans for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing cards and dominoes with family and friends.
She is survived by three daughters, Laura Vanek, Schuyler, Barbara Prier and husband, Cecil, Chanute, and Deborah Kirkland, Traverse City, Mich.; one sister, Phyllis Schuette and husband, Joe, Weeki Wachee, Fla.; two stepdaughters, Barbara Jean Hanson and husband, Larry, Topeka, and Sherry Spears, Memphis, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and six stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Spears in 1981, her parents, two sisters, Mildred Gross and Kathryn Ford, one granddaughter, Marsha Dawn Hansen, one stepson, Herb Spears, and two sons-in-law, David Vanek and Paul Bloom.
