Jim Prosser, 68, Chanute, died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012 at Olathe Medical Center in Olathe.

Jim was born in Mexico, Mo., on Feb. 2, 1943, the son of Forrest and Ruth Wood Prosser.

Jim was a lifelong member of the Elks. He was also active in the Masonic Cedar Lodge #103, Scottish Rite, the Mirza Shrine in Pittsburg where he was part of the Mirza Shrine Temple Uniform Unit, and the Chanute Car Club. In later years he drove children to the Shriner’s Hospital in St. Louis.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Renea Prosser, and his parents.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14 at the First Presbyterian Church in Chanute. Burial will follow in Neosho County Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel.

Memorials in his name may be made to the First Presbyterian Church and may be left with the funeral home.
