A memorial mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14 for 91-year-old Martha L. Hoog, of Ste. Genevieve, Mo, at the Church of Ste. Genevieve. She died Monday, Jan. 2, 2012 after a brief illness.

She was born Nov. 16, 1920 in Chanute, the daughter of Frank and Violet Reed Krone, who both preceded her in death.

She married Urban A. Hoog, of Ste Genevieve, on March 8, 1945. He preceded her in death.

She is survived by five children: John and wife, Jessie, Seoul, South Korea, Jane Herz and husband, Jim, Webster Groves, Mo.; Marilyn Tenholder and husband, Ed, St. Louis, Jerry, Leavenworth, Steve and wie, Dawn, Arnold, Mo.; 12 grandchildren: Genevieve Ellerbee and husband, Timothy,, Rebecca Hoog, Eva Lee, David Lee, Pete Wibbenmeyer, Rob Herz, Anne Marie Garcia and husand, Cesar, David Tenholder, Christina Brendle and husband, Chris, Alyssa Hoog, Ben Pilger and Amanda Pilger; and five great-grandchildren, Kenneth and Kayla Davis, Amaya, Elena, and Ruben Garcia.

She is also survived by a brother, Neil Krone and wife, Mary Ann, Chanute.

She was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.

She was a graduate of Chanute High School, Class of 1938, and Chanute Junior College, Class of 1940.

In keeping with Martha’s wishes, her body was donated to the St. Louis University School of Medicine.
