Richard W. “Rick” Sheldon, 45, Yates Center, died Thursday, July 31, 2008, from injuries sustained in a truck accident.

He was born June 4, 1963, in Mesa, Ariz., to Patrick and Marion Richey Sheldon. He graduated from high school in Mesa.

He was employed as an equipment operator with the Kansas Department of Transportation.

He married Michelle “Shelly” Moore in Mesa, Ariz., on Feb. 6, 1982. She survives.

Other survivors include a son, Tanner Sheldon, Yates Center; a daughter, Tiona Sheldon, Yates Center; his parents, Marion and Patrick Sheldon, Mesa, Ariz.; twin sisters, Debbie Brooks and Diane Sheldon, both of Mesa, Ariz.; and another sister, Vicky Pine, Scottsdale, Ariz.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. today at Campbell Funeral home. Interment will follow at Yates Center Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home, Yates Center.

Contributions to the Sheldon Children Educational Fund may be made in care of the funeral home.
