Gustav Paras Engstrom, 91, Wilson County, died Tuesday, August 5, 2008, at Golden Living Center, Fredonia.

He was born Aug. 31, 1916, in Coyville to Ludwig and Anna Burt Engstrom. He was a Coyville High School graduate.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a farmer.

On Oct. 15, 1942, he married Betty Jean Tarter in Tucson, Ariz. She died May 13, 2002.

He was a member of the Church of Christ in Fredonia.

Survivors include four sons, Ronald Engstrom, Hutchinson, Bud Engstrom, Tulsa, Okla., Donald Engstrom, Hoisington, and Rex Engstrom, Pittsburg; a daughter, Ann Stillings, Bloomfield Hills, Miss.; 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Fredonia City Cemetery under the direction of Timmons Funeral Home, Fredonia.

Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
