Eleanor Moser, 90, Chanute, died Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012 at Heritage Health Care.
Eleanor was born in Monte Vista, Colo., on June 21, 1921, the daughter of Fred David and Fern Inez Batchelder Speiser.
She was united in marriage to Ralph Moser on July 12, 1941 in Toledo, Ore. He preceded her in death on August 21, 1990.
Eleanor was a homemaker and operated Toledo Flower Shop in Toledo, Ore., for a number of years. She was a 4-H leader for several years and loved gardening, flowers, and birds. After retirement she and Ralph traveled full time in a 5th wheel then settled down in Chanute in the late 1980s.
Eleanor is survived by her daughter, Patricia dePlace and husband, Nick, Bismarck, Ill.; her son, Richard Moser and wife, Dianna, Acworth, Ga.; grandchildren, Nicole Zamora and husband, Justin, Lexington, Ky., Mic Detlefson and wife, Yon, Fairmont, Ga., Erika Couey and husband, Bryan, Ringold, Ga., and Whitney Grant and husband, Adam, Greenfield, Ga.; great-grandchildren, Zoe, Gabriel, Anna Zamora, Lexington, Ky., Alexander Detlefson, Fairmont, Ga., Kade, Ethan, and Garret Couey, Ringold, Ga., and Brock Grant, Greenfield, Ga.; two sisters, Doris Sutherland, Grand Junction, Colo., and Joyce Haines and husband, Jim, Chanute; one brother, Rex Speiser and wife, Lynita, Chanute.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters, Erma Sheets, Beulah Neptune, and Margaret Shockey; and one brother, Norman Speiser.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today, Jan. 21 at the First Baptist Church in Chanute. Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.
Memorials in her name may be made to First Baptist Church in Chanute or Horizon Hospice and may be left with the funeral home.
