Josephine Flores Jimenez, 91, died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012 at the Heritage Villa Nursing Home in Bartlesville, Okla.

Josephine was born on March 16, 1920 in Fort Worth, Texas, the daughter of Socorro and Andrea Vidal Flores. The family lived a short time in Kansas City, before settling in Humboldt.

She was united in marriage to Cruz Jimenez in Civil Court on Oct. 9, 1943, and on Oct. 20, 1943, they remarried at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Josephine was a homemaker, loving wife and mother, and a friend to others.

She worked in a small caf√© and later worked at “La Cucharra” restaurant.

Josephine was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Ladies’ Altar Society, and Ladies Woodman of America.

She is survived by her son, Carlos Jimenez and his wife, Rosalie, Bartlesville, Okla.; two daughters, Debra Parker and her husband, Doyle, Bartlesville, and Monica Criger and her husband, Mark, Humboldt; six grandchildren, Christy Jimenez, Lori Marie Rose, Cody Lee Parker, Carina Criger, Colette Snodgrass, Reece Criger; six great-grandchildren; and a sister, Antonia Alonzo, Chanute.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Cruz, a son, P.F.C. Eduardo Jimenez, a sister Illaria Perez, and two brothers, Cruz and Floretino Flores.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 27 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Humboldt. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.

Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Memorials in her name may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and may be left with the funeral home.
