Mary Jo Robison, 85, Brandon, Miss., formerly of Parsons, died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, at Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, Miss.

She was born April 26, 1926, in South Mound, to Omer and Olive Pontious Johnston. As a young girl, she grew up in the South Mound area and was a graduate of St. Paul High School. For a time, she worked at the Kansas Army Ammunition Plant in Parsons.

On April 10, 1947, she married Vester “Vic” Robison in Arkansas City. In 1950, they moved to Parsons where they lived for a few years before moving to the Chanute and Earlton area, where they farmed.

Her husband preceded her in death Oct. 15, 2002. In 2006, she moved to Jackson, Miss., to be near family.

She was a member of the First Christian Church in Parsons.

Survivors include a son, V. H. “Robbie” Robison, III, Raymond, Miss.; three daughters, Vickie Aikins, Carl Junction, Mo., Linda Cotton, Brandon, Miss., Karen Maitlen Harker, Heights, Texas; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Johnston, Vinita, Okla., Don Johnston, Cherryvale; four sisters, Margie Burzinski, Parsons, Rita Horton, Parsons, Olive Haight, Chanute, Mignon Yates, Glen Burnie, Md.

Funeral will be 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 27 at the Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home in Parsons. Burial will be in Fort Scott National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
