Brent Matthew Jackson, 29, rural Elsmore, Kansas, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012.
Brent was born May 17, 1982, at Lawrence, the son of Brian Conrad and Janet Marie Houk Jackson.
He began elementary school in North Manchester, Ind., before the family returned to the farm south of Elsmore.
He graduated from Marmaton Valley High School in 2000.
He attended Allen County Community College and transferred to Pittsburg State where he studied graphic arts.
Brent worked with his father as a farmer and stockman.
Survivors include his parents, Brian and Janet Jackson, Elsmore; a brother, Shane Jackson, Wichita; grandparents, Richard and Ann Houk, Moran, and Lorella Jackson, Elsmore; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Maxine Houk, grandfather, Conrad Jackson, aunt, Loretta Boman and cousins, Kent Jackson and Ryan Jackman.
There will not be a formal visitation; however, he will lie in-state at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday for friends and family to sign the guestbook.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30 at the Friends Home Lutheran Church at Savonburg.
Burial will be in Elsmore Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or Allen County Animal Rescue Facility (ACARF) and left with the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola.
