Caroline Burke, 76, Chanute, died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012 at Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita.

Caroline was born in Morrison, Okla., on Nov. 17, 1935, the daughter of Benjamen and Susie Haak Kriegh Kustanborter. She graduated from Erie High School in 1953 and Kansas State University in 1955. She received a Master’s degree in Business from Pittsburg State University. She owned Looking Good, Inc. in Chanute and was a homemaker.

Caroline is survived by three sons, John Burke, Fairland, Okla., Jeff Burke, Chanute, and Jimmie Burke, Chanute; one daughter, Jolene Karol, Covington, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren, Charles Michael Allen, Fayetteville, Tenn., Michael Paul Allen, Dexter, Mo., Katrina Marie Allen, Munford, Tenn., Holly Burke, Lawrence, Albert Semey, Chanute, Steven Semey, Chanute, Samantha McMillan, Chanute, Austin Burke, Walnut, Sierra Kirkpatrick, Walnut, Joshua Burke, Monett, Mo., Stephan Taylor, Pittsburg, Dominick Wisner, Chanute, and Timothy Leon Inge, Chanute; 24 great-grandchildren, Megan McMillan, Zakary and Makenna Kirkpatrick, Katlyn, Autumn, and Maya Burke, Colene, Eric Allen, Elizabeth Ashby, Christopher Hill, Stacey Roets, Tyler Alexander, Courtney, Nicholas, Mirisa, Erika, Zane, Heaven, and David Semey, Zach and Breanna Riley, Olivia, Lillian, and Madeline McCall-Burke.

She was preceded in death by parents and siblings, Paulinea Robillard, George Wiliam Kriegh, Alfred Kriegh, and Benjamen Kriegh.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14 at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home in Chanute. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel.

Memorials in her name may be made to the Joyce Meyers Ministries and may be left with the funeral home.
