Janet Lee Kidwell, 53, of Chanute, died Thursday, August 7, 2008 at the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Chanute on Oct. 15, 1954, the daughter of Carl and Helen Head Haviland. She graduated from Neodesha High School.

Janet was united in marriage to George Michael Kidwell on June 19, 1976 in Earlton. He preceded her in death on October 14, 2003.

She worked in Housekeeping at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center.

Janet is survived by two sons, Todd Kidwell and Tyler Kidwell, both of Chanute; five grandchildren; five brothers, Joe Haviland of Thayer, Bob Haviland of Wichita, Fred Haviland of Fort Scott, Leon Haviland of Parsons, and Frank Haviland of Chanute.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Mike Kidwell; a sister, Kathy Haviland; and a brother, Charles Haviland.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 12, at the Shaw Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 7 until 8:00 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel.

Memorials in her name may be made to the Janet Kidwell Memorial Fund and may be left with the funeral home.
