Ralph Eugene Rayborn, 77, Tonganoxie, formerly of Chanute, died Sunday, February 12, 2012 at the Tonganoxie Nursing Center.
Ralph was born on Sept. 15, 1934 in Miller, Mo., the son of Orville Hanson and Minnie Dell Williams Rayborn. He graduated from Chanute High School and attended Chanute Junior College.
He served his country in the United States Army from 1957 to 1960.
Ralph was united in marriage to Colene VanWinkle Davidson on July 14, 1957. They later divorced.
He worked as an accountant for Nazarene Publishing House until his retirement.
Ralph is survived by a son, Duane E. Rayborn, Kansas City, Kan.; a daughter, Twyla Colette Thompson and her husband, Ray, Tonganoxie; two grandsons, Shane and Dalton Thompson; one great-grandson, Tyler Ray Thompson; a sister, Daisy Delyght Ritz and her husband, Charles, Chanute; and several niece and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Troy Rayborn.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17 at the Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel in Chanute. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday, from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
