Lois Isabelle Stanley, 88, Chanute, died Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at the Chanute Health Care Center.

Lois was born in Bentley on Feb. 5, 1924, the daughter of Lloyd Dean and Mamie Elina Hansen Bratton. She graduated from Bentley High School in 1941.

She was united in marriage to William Bryan Stanley on Dec. 25, 1954 in Wichita. He preceded her in death.

Lois worked as a nurse’s aide at Arolyn Heights Nursing Home and Arrowood Lane Residential Center.

She is survived by her sons, William Lloyd Stanley and his wife, Janet, Wichita, Paul Bryan Stanley and his wife, Lucinda, Chanute, and Dale Alvin Stanley and his wife, Esther, Shawnee; stepchildren, Vivian Whitaker, Vernon Stanley, Donna Bechtel and Keith Stanley; 16 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Along with her husband William, she was preceded in death by her parents, an infant son Gale Allen Stanley, a stepson Virgil, two sisters, Mary Purvis and Leta Mae Wilson, and a brother, Lloyd Alvin Bratton.

Funeral will be 9 a.m. Saturday, March 10 at the First Baptist Church in Chanute. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends this evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel.

Memorials in her name may be made to the SEK Area Agency on Aging and may be left with the funeral home.
