Vicki Lu Bitts, 71, Chanute, died Monday, April 9, 2012 at her home.
Vicki was born in Erie on April 23, 1940, the daughter of Earl “Spud” and Lurene Hurst Rice. She grew up and attended schools in Erie, graduating from Erie High School in 1958.
She was united in marriage to Larry Bitts on Oct. 1, 1960 at the First Christian Church in Chanute. He survives, of the home.
Vicki was a homemaker, whose favorite pastime was spending time with her children and especially her grandchildren. She also worked for Lacey Carpet Company for 10 years.
She was a member of the First Christian Church.
Along with her husband Larry, she is survived by her daughter Cindy Crowl and her husband, Mark, her son, Kendall Bitts, Chanute; two grandchildren, Zachary and Janae Crowl, Chanute; and a sister, Linda Rice. Chanute.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 12 at the Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel in Chanute. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 1 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Memorials in her name may be made to God’s Pantry at First Christian Church and may be left with the funeral home.
