James Arthur Summervill, 71, Humboldt, died Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

James was born on Jan. 13, 1941 in Humboldt, the son of James Walter and Florence Ward Summervill. He graduated from Humboldt High School.

He was united in marriage to Nancy Sue Baker on March 20, 1965, at the First Christian Church in Humboldt. She survives, of the home.

James retired from the City of Humboldt.

He enjoyed farming, working with cattle and hunting, when he was able.

Along with his wife Nancy, he is survived by two sons, Randy Summervill and his wife, Andrea, Cummings, Ga., and Craig Summervill and his girlfriend, Lilly Keen, Humboldt; and two brothers, Merle Summervill, Alvin, Texas, and Glen Summervill and his wife, Lee, Wichita.

He was preceded in death by his parentsm three brothers, Bill Summervill, Harold Summervill, and Arnold Summervill, and a sister Natalie Billups.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 16 at the First Christian Church in Humboldt. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 1 p.m. until service time at the church.

Memorials in his name may be made to Humboldt Food Pantry or the Humboldt First Christian Church and may be left with the funeral home.
