Clarence M. Calvin, 71, Haysville, died Wednesday, January 21, 2009.

He was born Feb. 8, 1937, in New Bethlehem, Pa., to Clarence and Genevieve Bargerstock Calvin.

He married Lana Pillot on May 13, 1967, in Wichita. She survives. He was a retired law enforcement officer.

He was involved with ASA softball for many years as well as an avid sports fan.

Other survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Bev Hastings, Beaver Falls, Pa.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Missy and Chuck Elliott, Wichita, and Cindy and Fred DeLuca, Mesa Ariz.; four brothers, John and Dwite Calvin, both of East Rochester, Pa., Richard Young, East Liverpool, Ohio, and Ralph Young, Tionesta, Pa.; two sisters, Sarah Lonkert, Freedom, Pa., and Mary Ann Crile, East Rochester, Pa.; and six grandchildren, Tessa Barker, Elena, Gianna and Maria DeLuca, Andy Good and B.J. Hastings.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Lou Calvin.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Chanute, under the direction of Wulf-Ast Mortuary, Garden Plain.

A rosary will be said at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Contributions may be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
