Lucille Myrtle Becannon, 87, Chanute, died Sunday, August 17, 2008, at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center.
She was born April 14, 1921, in Woodson County to Herbert and Leola Ladd Laude. She graduated from Humboldt High School in 1939.
She married Harold Becannon on April 16, 1942, at Maple Grove Church. He died Feb. 10, 2000.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert “Dean” and Janice Becannon, Chanute, and Larry Harold and Betty Becannon, Amarillo, Texas; two daughters and sons-in-law, Naomi Ruth and Jim McBride, Peoria, Ariz., and Betty Lou and Ray Woods, Tonganoxie; eight granddaughters; a grandson; five great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Marjorie Peck, Yates Center, and Ruth Bennett and Rosemarie Chambers, both of Tomball, Texas.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Velora Mae Barnes and Elaine Hardin.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Buffalo Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Buffalo Cemetery under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Contributions to the Buffalo Methodist Church or First Baptist Church of Chanute may be left with the funeral home.
