Mabel N. Brown, 98, Yates Center, died Tuesday, August 19, 2008.

She was born Aug. 8, 1910, in Nowata, Okla., to Henry and Minnie Louise King Kelsey.

She married Frank Wesley Brown on Dec. 30, 1930, in Eureka. He died in June 1937.

She was employed as a bookkeeper with Greeley Gas Co., now Atmos, until her retirement in 1975.

Survivors include two daughters, Mareta Ann Milner and Carol J. Mizell, both of Yates Center; a brother, Lloyd Chism, El Dorado; a sister, Ruth Landwher, Winfield; 14 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five brothers, three sisters, a grandson and a great-grandson.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday at Campbell Funeral Home. Interment will be at 11:30 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery, Eureka.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
