Linda Arlene Evans, 51, Chanute, died Tuesday, August 19, 2008, at Via-Christi St. Francis Campus in Wichita following a lengthy illness.

She was born Sept. 12, 1956, in Chanute to Dean and Arlene Norris Evans. She graduated from Chanute High School in 1974, and Pittsburg State University in 1979.

She was employed for many years as a social worker in Southeast Kansas. She was employed at Russell Stover Candies in Iola.

She enjoyed raising flowers and caring for her pets.

Survivors include her parents; a brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Susan Evans, Derby; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Contributions may be made to Otterbein United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
