Shawn Michael Stipp, 23, Thayer, died Tuesday, August 19, 2008 as the result of an automobile accident.

He was born in Parsons, Kansas on April 23, 1985, the son of Jimmy Allen and Shannon Michelle Vance Stipp. He graduated from high school in Pagosa Springs, Colo.

Shawn was united in marriage to Natalie Conover on June 17, 2006 in White Plains, Ky. She survives, of the home.

He worked in airplane production for Cessna, General Aviation.

Along with his wife Natalie, Shawn is survived by a son, Nelson Stipp, Thayer; his mother, Shannon Bright and her husband, Bennie, of Dixon, Ky.; his father, Jimmy Stipp and his wife, Cecilie, of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; his paternal grandparents, Sara and John Essig, Thayer; grandfather, Tom Stipp, Thayer; maternal grandfather, Herbert Vance, Dixon, Ky.; a brother, Scott Stipp, Dixon, Ky.; a sister, Samantha Stipp, Dixon, Ky.; a stepbrother, Dylan Stipp, Pagosa Springs, Colo.; a stepsister, Chelsea Schwartz of the U.S. Army in Afghanistan; a stepbrother, Dusty Bright, Dixon, Ky.; and four stepsisters, Deedra Bright of Chanute, Toni Bright, Britney Bright and Heather Bright, all of Dixon, Ky.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Patricia Vance, and a stepbrother Darren Bright.

Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 23 at the Thayer Christian Church. Burial will follow in the Thayer Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 7 until 8 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel in Chanute.

Memorials in his name may be made to an Education Fund for his son, in care of Commercial Bank and may be left with the funeral home.
