Ken Woods, 64, Chanute, died Sunday, June 10, 2012 at his residence.

Ken was born in Cushing, Okla., on Jan. 8, 1948, the son of R.A. and Daisy Holding Woods. He graduated from Enumclaw High School in Enumclaw, Wash., in 1966. He retired from the Air Force after 20 years of service.

Ken is survived by his wife, Pamela Woods, Chanute; four children, Kenny Woods, Tacoma, Wash., David Woods, Grants Pass, Ore., Melissa Suwalski, Ottawa, and Katie Murphy, Chanute; eight grandchildren, Stevie Hart, Dominik Perez, Jazlyn Borjas, Bailey, Reid, Brooklyn, and Karen Woods, and Alexis; one brother, Larry Woods, Chanute; and four sisters, Virginia Woods, Liverpool, Calif., Joyce Haynes, Alice Kern, and Jackie Booe, all of Chanute.

He was preceded in death by his father, R.A. Woods; and one sister, Sharon Legitt.

Graveside service will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 13 at Fort Scott National Cemetery in Ft. Scott.

The family will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel.
