Ruby Fern Mason, 83, Chanute, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 11, 2012.
Ruby was born on Jan. 2, 1929 and raised in Ritchie, Mo., the daughter of Edward and Dixie Scott Reber. She married Clyde Ray Mason on March 24, 1951 in Ritchie, Mo. He preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 1995. She worked at Kustom Signals in Chanute for 27 years before retiring at the age of 78 on July 5, 2007.
Ruby was a member of the Parkview Holiness Church since 1977 when she and Clyde relocated to Chanute from Kansas City, Mo.
She is survived by two sons, Charles Mason and wife, Anna, Blue Springs, Mo., and Gary Mason and wife, Marsha, Columbia S.C.; three daughters, Joyce Mason Hurd, Chanute, Rose Fantasma and husband, Andre, of Peculiar, Mo., and Rita Penn and husband, Norman, Hopkinsville, Ky.; as well as 26 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, three sisters; and three grandchildren, Jessica Fantasma, Billy Mason and Angela Hurd Wolberd.
Funeral will be 9 a.m. Saturday, June 16 at First Church of the Nazarene in Chanute.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 until 8:30 p.m. at First Church of the Nazarene.
Memorials in her name may be made to the family and may be left with the funeral home.
