Willard D. “Bill” Kuder, 81, Chanute, formerly of Osawatomie, died Friday, Feb. 6, 2009 at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute.

Bill was born Oct. 3, 1927 in Beagle, to Charles and Addie Marie Chambers Kuder. He attended Osawatomie schools.

He married Mary Alice Lyons on June 30, 1945 in Paola, He lived in Garnett from ’73 to ’02, then moved to Chanute in 2002.

He worked at Ralph’s Food Center in Osawatomie for many years and he retired from Pence’s IGA in Garnett.

He had attended the Methodist Churches in Lane and Osawatomie.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his two sons, Michael Kuder, Chanute, and Tom Kuder, Peculiar, Mo.; three daughters, Terry Turley, Stark, Debby Pool, Chanute, and Sandy Hughes, Arlington, Texas; two brothers, Jim Kuder, Independence, Mo., and Mike Kuder, Kansas City, Kan.; two sisters, Marguerite Niemeyer, of Independence, Mo., and Rosie Lee, Vermillion; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.

Funeral will be 1:30 p.m. today, Feb. 10 at the Eddy-Birchard Funeral Home in Osawatomie. Burial will be in the Osawatomie Cemetery. Memorials are to the First Baptist Church of Chanute or the Alzheimer’s Association.
