Rachel R. Sterling, 89, Yates Center, died Thursday, February 19, 2009, at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center.

She was born Feb. 19, 1920, in Yates Center to Warren Arthur and Myrtle Rhodes Millison. She graduated from Yates Center High School in 1938.

She was employed in local nursing homes.

She married Rex Sterling on Nov. 26, 1941, in Yates Center. He survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Robert “Butch” and Jerry “Pete” Sterling, both of Yates Center; a daughter, Phyllis Barton, Hayes City, Neb.; a sister, Martha Millison, Yates Center; four granddaughters; two grandson; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and Bill Millison.

Private family inurnment will be at a later date in Cedarvale Cemetery, Neosho Falls. Arrangements were under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home, Yates Center.
