Donna Cordon, 76, Chanutem died Monday, Sept. 10, 2012 at her residence.

Donna was born in Pawnee City, Neb., on Nov. 10, 1935, the daughter of Fredrick and Lottie Jones Howard. She graduated from Pawnee City High School in 1953 and later graduated from Peru State Teachers College with her teaching degree.

She married Kenny Cordon on Oct. 31, 1956 in Humboldt, Neb.

She was a rural school teacher in Du Bois, Neb., and low grades in Burchard, Neb. She and Kenny moved to Phoenix, Ariz., where she was a substitute teacher. Once they moved to Chanute she worked for Kustom Electronics where she retired after several years.

Donna is survived by her husband, Kenny Cordon, of Chanute.

She was preceded in death by one son, Matthew Cordon, her parents, and three brothers.

The family will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel.

Funeral will be Friday, Sept. 14 at 2 p.m. at the Christian Church in Pawnee City, Neb. Burial will be in the Pawnee City Cemetery.

Memorials in her name may be made to the donor’s choice and may be left with the funeral home.
