Ella Mae Harris, 80, of Chanute, died Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012 at her home in Chanute.

Ella was born in Parsons on August 27, 1932, the daughter of Fredrick John and Ella Katherine Ward Lindsey. She attended St. Paul schools and Neosho County Community College.

She was united in marriage to Robert Harris on March 28, 1948 in Mountain Home, Ark. He preceded her in death on July 7, 2006.

Ella worked as a supervisor in Quality Control at the National Garment Manufacturing for 14 years. She was also a homemaker, attended Otterbein United Methodist Church, and a member of The Eastern Star in Chanute.

Ella is survived by her four daughters, Betty Harris of Chanute, Linda Piley and her husband, Tab, of Chanute, Wanda Harris-Masumoto and her husband, Alex, of Gardena, Calif., and Vickie Harris of Chanute; two sons, Ronald Harris and his wife, Carol, Haysville, and Mikel Harris and his wife, Shelley, of Keller, Texas; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Tommy Lindsey, Kay Lindsey, and Joe Lindsey; and four sisters, Nina Madl, Geanita Birks, Betty Ann Patton, Helen Haviland.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three sisters, and one brother.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, Sept. 15 from 10 a.m. until noon at the Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Hope Cemetery in St. Paul.

Memorials in her name may be made to the Ella Harris Memorial Fund and may be left with the funeral home.
