Saraetta Wiggans Edwards, 97, Topeka, formerly of Chanute, died Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, at Midland Hospice in Topeka.

She was born Jan. 14, 1912, in Pleasant Valley Township in Wilson County to Enoch and Etta Sharpe Wiggans.

She worked in retail sales and operated Wilson’s Clothiers.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Lyle and Patricia Carson Baker, Conroe, Texas, and Robert and Carolyn Carson Davenport, Topeka; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Lorene Mullen, Brea, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Kenneth Carson, Thomas Wilson and Floyd Edwards; four sisters; and six brothers.

Funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Otterbein United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel.

Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
