Dennis A. Lawrence, 63, Toronto, died Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.

He was born Jan. 20, 1946, in Wichita to Alfred and Ermyl Shirk Lawrence. He graduated from East High School in 1963.

He was a 20-year veteran of the U.S. Navy and Naval Reserve.

He retired from Boeing Aircraft in 2001 after 25 years of service.

He attended New York Valley Church of God.

He married Dorothy Smith on Jan. 20, 2000. She survives.

Other survivors include his mother, Ermyl Lawrence, Andover; a son, David Lawrence, Wichita; two daughters, Denise Lawrence, Fort Collins, Colo., and Angelique Reynolds, Toronto; two brothers, Gary Lawrence, Iola, and Don Lawrence, Belle Plaine; two sisters, Nina Lubrano, France, and Eva King, Wichita; and six grandchildren.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at New York Valley Church. Interment will follow at Toronto Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home, Yates Center.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
