Jackie Klauman, 77, of Chanute, died Saturday, Sept, 29, 2012 at Chanute Health Care in Chanute.

Jackie was born in Welty, Okla., on April 3, 1935 the daughter of W.E. and Gladys Bryan McCoy. She graduated from Chanute High School in 1953. She married Wayne Klauman on August 2, 1952 in Bentonville, Ark. He preceded her in death on June 13, 2007.

She retired from Kustom Signals after 27 years as a shipping clerk. After her retirement she worked at Windsor Place for several years.

Jackie was very active in the community and church. She was a member of the Laurel Mothers Club, B.P.W, Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW, and the First United Methodist Church where she served on the finance committee, Today’s Concern Link, and Church and Society. In 1987 she won the B.P.W Woman of the Year. She played Santa Claus for area schools and events in the community for 27 years, and was a Boy Scout and Girl Scout leader.

Jackie is survived by one son, Larry and Kathy Klauman of Chanute; two daughters, Brenda and Larry Rowe of Chanute, and Marsha and Roger Cook of Chanute; nine grandchildren, Russ and Misty Klauman of Stafford, Va., Chad and Sara Klauman of Independence, Christy and David Bridges of Chanute, Kelly Rowe of Winfield, Kyle Rowe of Chanute, Levi and Lana Russell of Manhattan, Seth Russell of Pittsburg, Chrissy Cook of Las Vegas, Nev., and Nick Cook of Pittsburg; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Deanie Walters of Chanute, and Shirley and Ben Vega of Phoenix, Ariz.; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Beck of Chanute, and Margie McCoy of Claremore, Okla.,; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers, Jim McCoy, Louie McCoy, Bill McCoy, and Lee McCoy, and one sister, Darlene Norris.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel in Chanute. Burial will follow in the Neosho County Cemetery.

The family will receive friends this evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel.

Memorials in her name may be made to the Chanute HealthCare Activity Fund and may be left with the funeral home.
