Larry R. Dillinger, 65, rural Parsons, died at his home Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012. He had been in failing health.
He was born August 14, 1947, in Parsons, to Lloyd E. and Sarah L. Bond Dillinger. He grew up in the rural St. Paul area and graduated from Erie High School in 1965.
He and Merle Prindle were married Dec. 9, 1981 at Miami, Oklahoma. He was previously married to Sharon K. Breeze and Mary Coomes.
Larry was employed by Neosho County for 10 years, retiring in 2004. Earlier he had worked for Hy-Grade Construction.
Survivors include his wife, Merle Dillinger, of the home; a son, Mike Dillinger; a daughter, Tammy Alexander, Parsons; a stepson, Shannon Presley, Pittsburg; two stepdaughters, Shaune Presley, Pittsburg, Tori Presley, Pittsburgl 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a brother, Don Dillinger, St. Paul; a sister, Mary Hines, Erie.
He was preceded in death by a son, Robbie Dillinger.
Funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6 at the South Mound Community Building. Burial will follow in the South Mound Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Pierce-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Erie from 6 to 8 p.m.,this evening. Memorials are suggested to either Hospice Care of Kansas or to the family. They may be left at the funeral home or sent to Box 182, Erie, KS 66733.
