Everett L. “Jack” Trammell, 75, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012 at his home in Hutchinson.

He was born Nov. 16, 1936 in Chanute, the son of Clyde L. and Alice L. Lacey Trammell.

A U.S. Navy veteran he served on the U.S.S. Intrepid. He was an owner/operator independent truck driver for many years before going to work as a machinist for Eaton Hydraulic Co., where he retired from in 1992. After his retirement, Jack enjoyed junking with his sons and grandsons, as well as fishing and camping with his family.

On Feb. 14, 1959 he married Imogene R. Kidd at Miami, Okla. She survives.

Other survivors include his children, Brenda Scates and husband, Marvin, Mountain Home, Ark., Norma Seat and husband, Ralph, Rush Springs, Okla., Calvin Trammell and wife, Gina, Buhler, Elizabeth Garcia and husband, Robert, Timothy Trammell, Clyde Trammell and wife, Jennifer, and Roger Trammell and wife, Tracy, all of Hutchinson; his siblings, Gladys Self, Bentonville, Ark., Jean Testerman, Anderson, Mo., Vern Laughlin and wife, Gloria, Gravett, Ark., Hazel Thurman and husband, Eugene, Pineville, Mo,, Edna Mitchell and husband, Emery, Greenfield, Mo.,, and Opal Haines and husband, Jack, Goodman, Mo.; 25 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde L.; mother and stepfather, Alice L. and Cleo Laughlin; sister, Doris Smith, and a daughter-in-law, Norma Trammell.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. today, Oct. 9 at Penwell Gabel Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Wedel presiding. Cremation will follow. A memorial graveside will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Fairlawn Burial Park.
