Pervy “Wayne” Dunn, 58, Altoona, died Friday, March 6, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita.

Wayne was born in Jasper, Ala., on Jan. 15, 1951, the son of Pervy S. and Clara Mae Spurgeon Dunn. He graduated from Berry High School in Berry, Ala.

He served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1971 to 1975.

Wayne was united in marriage to Judy Helen Wingate on Oct. 30, 1973 in Wichita. She survives, of the home.

He was a truck driver for Midwest Minerals, Inc.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Judy, Altoona; two sons, Eric Wayne Dunn and his wife, Maggie, and Adam Lee Dunn; two daughters, Lisa Mae Dunn Wood and her husband, Karl, and Helen Rene Dunn Rhodes and her husband, David; five grandchildren, Brandy Dunn, Maelee Dunn, Tabitha and Kimberly Hermreck and Ethan Wood; a sister, Shirley Clark; and three brothers, Jimmy Dunn, Johnny Dunn, and Phillip Dunn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Bobby Dunn.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 12 at the Penwell-Gabel Gibson Chapel in Chanute. Burial will follow in Harrison Cemetery, rural Thayer.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials in his name may be made to Faith Bible Church and may be left with the funeral home.
