Neva Jane “Janie” Cushman, 62, Chanute, died Sunday, March 8, 2009 at the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute.
Neva was born in Chanute, on Dec. 4, 1946, the daughter of Ray and Louise Clifton Waller. She attended schools in Chanute, graduating from Chanute High School.
She was united in marriage to David Cushman on May 2, 2002 in Denver, Colorado. He survives.
Neva worked as a supervisor for Jolly Rancher in Denver until her retirement.
She is survived by her husband, David, and Ginger of Chanute; a son, Darrell Smith of Denver, Colo.; her father, Ray Waller of Chanute; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kathy Shields of Chanute and Shelly Waller of Osage City; and one brother, Tracy Waller of Norton.
She was preceded in death by her mother; her grandparents; and her beloved pet Blondie.
Cremation has taken place.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 13 at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel in Chanute.
Memorials in her name may be made to the American Cancer Society and may be left with the funeral home.
