Larry Larkey, 80, of Chanute, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2012 at Chanute Health Care in Chanute.
Larry was born in Iola on March 4, 1932, the son of Robert D. and Vivian Paugh Larkey. He graduated from Moran High School in 1950. On August 3, 1952 he married Christena E. Jackson in Eureka Springs, Ark. She survives.
Larry retired as the service manager for Ranz Motor Company.
He was a member of the First Christian Church in Chanute. He loved fishing, hunting, and especially watching the Kansas City Chiefs.
Larry is survived by his wife; three children, Susan and Rob Guthrie of Carthage, Mo., Cindy and Archie Stokes of Iola, and Randy and Linda Larkey of Liberty, Mo.; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Loretta Eisminger of Salt Lake City, Utah, Mary Lou Youngdale of Mesquite, Nev., Marcia Sacheia of Iola; and one brother, Nolan Larkey.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Norman and Robert Larkey.
Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20 at the First Christian Church in Chanute.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from noon until 1 p.m. at the First Christian Church.
Memorials in his name may be made to the First Christian Church and may be left with the funeral home.
