Janet McKinzie died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012 at her residence in St. Paul.

Janet was born in Grand Junction, Colo., on Feb. 16, 1955, the daughter of Carlyle “Tuffy” and Cordy Ward. She graduated from St. Paul High School in 1973.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed fishing and playing slot machines.

Janet is survived by her mother, Cordy Ward of St. Paul; one daughter, Amy Smith and her fiancée, Dustin Surridge of Dennis; four sons, Gary McKinzie, Jr. and wife, Donna, of Erie, Michael McKinzie of St. Paul, Dennis Reese, Jr. of Pittsburg, and Manuel Lalicker and wife, Sharon, of Girard; 16 grandchildren, Bradyn Smith, Ashlynn Smith, Tyler Smith, and Payton Surridge all of Dennis, Breanna Harvey and Trent Harvey of Erie, Cara McKinzie of St. Paul, Haden McKinzie of Mesa, Ariz., Robert Reese of Butler, Mo., Joey Reese of Pittsburg, Chris Hix, Daniel Hix, Manuel Lalicker, Jr., and Matthew Lalicker all of Girard, and Christian Cutshall and Jordan Biby both of Mindenmines, Mo.; one great-grandson, Kane Harvey of Erie; two brothers, Johnny Ward of St. Paul, and Wayne Ward of San Antonio, Texas; four sisters, Lucy Frost of Mound Valley, Sara Caswell of St. Paul, Cordy Ann Hill of St. Paul, and Terry Dewey of Neodesha; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, her husband, Gary McKinzie, and two sisters, Sue Chase and Mary Woods.

Funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2 at St. Paul United Methodist Church in St. Paul. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 until 8 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church.

Memorials in her name may be made to the family and may be left with the funeral home.
