Jacqueline Ladine “Jaci” Vader Whelchel, 68, Erie, died Tuesday, March 10, 2009, at her home.

She was born July 27, 1940, in Jewell County to Lewis Jacob “Jakey” and Ernestine June Lyons Vader. She attended school at Mankato.

She married James A. Whelchel in 1959 at Mankato.

She worked for many years as the activity director for Cloud County Health Center in Concordia.

She was an associate member of the First Christian Church of Erie.

Survivors include two daughters, Ronda Rae Whelchel and Gayle Denise Whelchel Ballard, both of Erie; two granddaughters; two brothers, Jerry Kendall and Harlow Guy Vader, both of Mankato; two sisters, Clarabelle Ernestine Vader Hajny, Jewell, and Shirley Ann Vader Steele, Cheyenne, Wyo.

The body will be cremated. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church in Erie. Burial will be held at a later date in the Evergreen Cemetery in Superior, Neb. Arrangements are under the direction of Pierce-Carson-Wall Funeral Home, Erie.
