Joyce Louise Carlburg, 50, of Humboldt, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012 at the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute.

Joyce was born in Cedar Vale on Dec. 29, 1961, the daughter of Ralph and Ethel Shultz Bever. She graduated from Chanute High School in 1980.

She was united in marriage on May 28, 2010 to Ron Carlburg in Eureka Springs, Ark. He survives, of the home.

Joyce worked at the Grain Bin in Chanute as a waitress and also worked the cash register. She had previously worked at the Holiday Park, Country Club, Big Ed’s Steakhouse, and ELKS.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Elks Club. She enjoyed motorcycle riding, spending time with family and friends, and cooking for everyone.

Along with her husband, Ron, she is survived by two sons, Nathan Osborn of Ontario, Calif., and Nick Osborn of Topeka; a daughter, Bethanie Carlburg of Pittsburg; three grandchildren, Jaden Carlburg, Rachel Wilson, Brennan Wood, and expecting another one; two sisters, Jackie Murphey of Chanute and Julia Bever of Great Bend; and three brothers, Gary Bever of Pryor, Okla., Tom Bever of Vera, Okla., and Rick Bever of Chanute.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29 at the First Baptist Good News Center in Chanute. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Penwell Gabel Johnson Chapel.

Memorials in her name may be made to Hope Unlimited in Iola and may be left with the funeral home.
