Shawndra Beauchamp Turner, 32, Overland Park, peacefully passed on Sunday, March 15, 2009, in the comfort of her family.

She was born July 23, 1976, and grew up in Prairie Village, Kansas. She graduated from Shawnee Mission East High School, and later received her undergraduate degree from Drake University, where she was a member of the Alpha Phi Sorority. She continued her education by obtaining a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Kansas.

She spent five years caring for kids at Children’s Mercy Hospital. In 2004, Shawndra advanced her education by receiving a master’s degree as a Nurse Practioner. She practiced in the outpatient ENT clinic at Children’s Mercy Hospital.

She married Doug Turner on Aug. 7, 2004. He survives.

She was committed to her family, friends, and the medical community. Her love of life, spontaneous wit and infectious laugh will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her precious daughter, Ella; her parents, Gary and Carolyn Beauchamp; a sister and brother-in-law, Andrea and Greg Kristoff; her grandmother, Beulah Janssen; and mother and father-in-law, Steve and Vicki Turner.

A memorial service was held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Rolling Hills Church. Graveside services followed at Johnson County Memorial Gardens in Overland Park under the direction of Newcomer’s Sons Johnson County Chapel.
