David H. Moore, 74, died on December 31, 2012 in Iola. He was born in Wichita on Dec. 3, 1938 to parents Richard H. and Annie Elizabeth Moore. Early childhood and adolescent years were carried out on the family farm east of Haven, working alongside his father.

David married Myrna Jantz on March 30, 1961 in Haven.

He entered the pastorate in August of 1963 and served churches including Iola, all for the Wesleyan denomination in Kansas.

He also served in the Air National Guard from 1961 to 1967 and worked at Beech Aircraft in Wichita while living in El Dorado.

Survivors include his wife, Myrna Moore; daughters Vicki Barth of Olathe, Diane Harper of Hutchinson; sons David D. Moore and Jason B. Moore, both of Iola; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brother John Moore of Hutchinson; sister Ruth Edgington of Hutchinson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place.

Remembrance celebration will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12 at Carlyle Presbyterian Church, 29 Covert St., Carlyle-Iola.

Memorials are suggested The Voice Of The Martyrs or Freedom Ministries and may be left with the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel of Iola.
