Joan M. Gladson, 82, Girard, died Wednesday, September 3, 2008, at her residence.
She was born July 2, 1926, in Stark to John and Angie Ermy Heitman. She attended school in Stark and graduated from Walnut High School. She attended business college in Kansas City.
She married Jack D. “Jake” Gladson on Aug. 6, 1944, in Girard. He died Jan. 1, 2004.
She worked as a bookkeeper at Producer’s Coop, Farm Bureau, and at the Crawford County courthouse, all in Girard.
She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge and the American Legion Auxiliary, both of Girard.
She enjoyed bingo, crocheting, quilting, gardening, and table games.
Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert “Bob” and Trisha Gladson, Girard, Jimmy R. Gladson, Canton, Miss., and Jack D. Jr. and Nicki Gladson, Chanute; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; three brothers, John Heitman, Tulsa, Okla., Jack Heitman, Arma, and Fred Heitman, Walnut; her twin sister, Jean Bolin, Girard; and two other sisters, Barbara Matthews, Castleberry, Fla., and Rosemary Johnson, Henderson, Nev.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Smith-Carson-Wall Funeral Home in Girard with Pastor Rick Prideaux officiating.
Friends may call after 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
