Georgia M. Romine, 72, of the Stark and Kimball areas, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2008 at the Vitas I.P.U. at Herman Memorial City Hospital in Houston, Texas.

She was born on April 6, 1936 at rural Stark, a daughter of Sherman Martin and Violet Wilma Gier Goff. She was raised there and attended Stark schools. After completing high school, she attended nurse’s school at Neosho County Community College. She worked a short time at the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center. She later was employed at the Labette County Medical Center at Parsons until her retirement in the late 1980’s due to health reasons.

She was united in marriage to Donald Glenn Romine in 1954 at Erie. They later divorced and he preceded her in death.

She attended the Hope Chapel at Moran.

Survivors include three sons, Ronald Romine, Wichita, Bryan Romine, Ft. Fairfield, Maine, Randy Romine, Houston, Texas; a daughter, Lorri Abu-Rezeq, Houston, Texas; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Wilford Goff, Virgil, Jerry Goff, Birmingham, Ala.; two sisters, Florence Burlakoff, Mulvane, Carol Ludlum, Razel.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday, September 12 at Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Thursday at Pierce-Carson-Wall Funeral Home. Memorials are suggested to the Stark High School Alumni Association and may be left or mailed to the funeral home, P.O. Box 182, Erie, KS 66733.
