Jack L. Standiferd, 64, Wichita, formerly of Fredonia, died unexpectedly on Monday, March 23, 2009, at Via Christi St. Joseph Medical Center in Wichita.

He was born Oct. 12, 1944, in Independence to E.O. and Helen E. Sidlinger Standiferd.

He retired as maintenance inspector with Lafarge Corporation in Fredonia.

He married Rosemary Young. She survives.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Fredonia.

Other survivors include a daughter, Marla Pryor, Blue Springs, Mo.; a son, Jack Standiferd Jr., Wichita; two brothers, Thomas J. Standiferd, Beeville, Texas, and Richard Graff, Colo.; and two grandchildren, Hunter and Hadley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Renee Lynn Standiferd; and three grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Timmons Funeral Home, Fredonia. Burial will be in the Fredonia City Cemetery.

I graduated with Jack at Fredonia in '62. A really, really nice guy. I know he'll be missed by many. L.D. Letterman
