Donna Yvonne Vest, 72, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2009, in Houston, Texas.

She was born on Monday, November 1, 1937, in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, to Marvin and Elfleta Weaver.

She was a member of Chanute High School’s class of 1955.

On April 15, 1955, she married her high school love, Gary Lee (Rush) Vest, in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Chanute. Together they traveled the world following the oil business and raised two incredible sons, Mitchell and Courtney.

Donna will be remembered most for her magnanimous personality, her passion for life and for her love of animals. She rarely met a stranger, never turned from a challenge and had no regrets. And more than anything else, she loved her family with all her heart.

Donna is survived by her husband, sons and daughter-in-law, Kim. Others include her sister and best friend, Joyce Ripple; her brother Danny Weaver’s family; niece, Carla Irwin, and her family; nephew, Stephen Spitzer, and his family; niece, Jackie Lynn Hilton, and the Churchill family and nephew, Kenny Pierce, and his family.

Preceding her in death are her parents; sisters, Georgia and Arlee; and her beloved brother, Danny. May you all fly like happy little bluebirds somewhere over the rainbow until we meet again!

Cremation has taken place. Memorial service and burial will be held at a later date.
