Vance Gleaman Stinnett, 70, Yates Center, died Thursday, April 9, 2009, at Yates Center.

He was born Sept. 4, 1938, in Fillmore to Mary Cleo Stinnett. He graduated from Fillmore High School.

He married Joannia Marie Wardlow in Hiawatha in 1966.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1963 to 1968.

Survivors include two sons, Randall Stinnett, Kincaid, and Randolph Stinnett, Yates Center; a daughter, Rebecca Houk, Moran; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother; and six sisters.

He was preceded in death by his mother and a son, Vance Stinnett.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Campbell Funeral Home, Yates Center.

The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
