Mary Lou Schleicher, 88, Olathe, died Friday, April 10, 2009, at Santa Marta.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Santa Marta, Catholic Community Hospice and American Companion Care for their excellent care and compassion.

Survivors include by a daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Ken Winters, Overland Park, a son, Nick Schleicher, Marceline, Mo.; a brother, Chris Brazil, Chanute; a

sister-in-law, Mary Etta Schleicher, Overland Park; three grandchildren and their spouses, Kevin and Heidi Winters, Kelly and Brian Ponzer and Beth Schleicher; and four great-grandchildren, Dillon and Reagan Ponzer and Isaiah and Mya Schleicher.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. “Bill” Schleicher, in 2000; and 10 brothers and sisters.

A rosary will be said at 6:30 p.m. today in the Santa Marta Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 424 S. Central, Chanute. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Chanute, under the direction of Porter Funeral Homes & Crematory.
