Juanita “Jo” Mentzer Baldwin, 85, Middletown, Conn., died Sunday, April 5, 2009, in Middletown.

She was born May 20, 1923, in Yates Center to Ernest and Edith Dumond Mentzer. She graduated from Yates Center High School in 1978. She was 1949 graduate of Welsley Nursing School in Wichita and was a practicing nurse for 45 years.

Survivors include four daughters, E. Ann Baldwin, Higganum, Conn., Edith Amelia Baldwin, Haddam, Conn., Beth Baldwin, Middletown, Conn., and Charlene F. Baldwin, Phoenix, Ariz.; three grandchildren; four brothers, Tye Mentzer, Iowa, Keith Mentzer, Nevada, Norryce Mentzer, Washington, and Burdette Mentzer, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Edward, Austin, Donald and Lovell Mentzer.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Yates Center Cemetery under the direction of Campbell Funeral Home, Yates Center.

The family will greet friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
