Jack D. V. Brown, 78, Guest Home Estates in Erie, died Saturday, September 20, 2008, at Elmhaven East Nursing Home in Parsons. He had been in failing health.

He was born June 9, 1930, in St. Paul to William M. and Myrtle A. Wilson Brown and attended local schools.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1954.

He retired from Beachner Grain four years ago.

He and Sandra McDonald were married Sept. 17, 1956. They later divorced.

Survivors include a son, Randy Brown, Erie; a daughter, Rhonda Brown, Erie; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother and a great-grandson.

Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Hope Cemetery, north of St. Paul, under the direction of Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home, Parsons.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.
